Where will our Coasteering adventure take place?

Every afternoon prior to confirming the following days activities our expert forecasting team will check where the tide and weather conditions are safest / suitable for the group and confirm the location by email and text.

All locations are within a 1 hour drive of Fort William. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we cannot offer transport or public transport links at this time.

Is the equipment provided?

Yes! Full equipment hire is included as part of your adventure -

Wetsuit
Buoyancy Aid
Helmet
Gloves

All of our equipment is kept to the highest standards.

What do I need to bring?

Trainers/running shoes you don't mind getting wet. Wetsuits shoes, surf boots or water sandals are not suitable because the soles are too thin to provide adequate protection on the rocky shore ground. Hiking boots, wellington boots, crocs, are not suitable as they become heavy or fall off.
Socks any socks that cover your ankles work great as protection against scrapes and scratches, bonus points if you have neoprene but not required!
Swimwear please come dressed in your swimwear if you can - this saves changing time and lets the session start promptly. Swimwear is worn underneath the wetsuit. A sports t-shirt or rash vest if you have one is acceptable, but not required, cotton t-shirts, jumpers or the like are not suitable as they will just make you heavier and colder.

What if it's raining or windy?

Coasteering is a great wet weather activity - the rain just adds to the fun experience - you’ll be wet enough in the sea anyway, don’t you worry! Our experience of multiple locations allows us to choose a venue that’s suitable, fun and safe no matter the forecast weather conditions!

I have a health condition. Can I still participate?

We are dedicated to working with you to ensure a fun and safe session - please disclose any and all medical issues.

We are flexible and will try to tailor the session to suit your needs. We are able to carry personal medications such as epi pens and asthma inhalers in a secure drybox so that they can be accessible throughout your adventure.

However we cannot take responsibility for these medications.

If you have more specific requirements or questions we are dedicated to the principles of inclusive adventure so please get in touch to discuss your requirements - and we are often able to put on private or tailored sessions to suit.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Yes. Swimming is an integral part of the experience.

Wetsuits are buoyant and the provided buoyancy aids will help too, so you don’t need to be the strongest swimmer, but a good level of water confidence is required.

We are dedicated to the principles of inclusive adventure so if you’re unsure, or would like to book a session specifically to include a non-swimmer then please do get in touch as we can often offer private, tailored sessions to suit.

Can I drop the kids off and pick them up later?

No. Whilst all our guides are highly experienced, qualified and DBS checked a parent/guardian must be present throughout the duration of the activity for insurance reasons.

Can I bring my own wetsuit?

Yes. Our wetsuits are freshly sanitised, clean, durable and warm and ideally suited for coasteering. Using our kit means you have less wear on your own and less washing to take home with you.

If you want to bring your own wetsuit then we can accommodate that, at our discretion, as long as it is of a suitable full length design, fit and thickness so as not to cause any issues to the safety and enjoyment of the session.

Do you have toilet/changing facilities?

Because of the Covid-19 restrictions and guidance and our nature as a mobile business we are unable to offer any facilities. Please come expecting to get changed in the woods for a more authentic natural experience! It works best if you have swimwear on already. We will do our best to ensure that there are suitable areas and privacy for getting changed.
